What is Intuition and how can you actually strengthen it?
So I had this download a few weeks ago about what intuition really is. A lot of people see me seeking advice or answers about clarity in their life and what they are often paying me for is my intuition. But my hope is often to help them confirm the intuition that they already received within them selves. Confirmation that they are going in the best and highest way for the outcome of their life. But sometimes I think that people think intuition is here to serve them to get out of or prevent discomfort in their lives and controversial to popular belief… I don’t think it actually is.
Intuition is the voice of your heart. Contrary to the voice of your mind which is almost always occupied with control, worries of the future and fear of discomfort. Your heart is the quiet knowing of what you need to do regardless of if its painful or not.
People want to strengthen their intuition, when all they need to do it release it. Is is often bound by imprints of self doubt, and lack of self love. Intuition is like a compass that guides us toward our truest path, even when that path might lead us through difficult terrain. It’s not meant to shield us from discomfort or ensure that everything works out perfectly. Rather, it’s there to nudge us in the direction that will foster our growth, teach us vital lessons, and bring us closer to our authentic selves.
The misconception many have is that intuition should make life easier or smoother, but that's not always the case. In fact, intuition often leads us directly into situations that challenge our comfort zones. It might call us to have a difficult conversation, to walk away from something safe, or to face parts of ourselves we’ve been avoiding. It's not about avoiding pain, but rather about guiding us through the kind of pain that brings transformation.
Strengthening intuition isn't about acquiring a new skill; it's about peeling away the layers of fear, doubt, and the voices of others that have buried our natural knowing. Our intuition is already there, vibrant and alive, whispering to us through our desires, our discomforts, and even our fears. It’s the inner compass we’ve all been given, pointing us toward our highest path, if only we’re willing to listen.
The problem is, our minds love control. They love to plan, to strategize, and to keep us safe from any perceived threats. This is where the conflict between intuition and logic arises. The mind tells us to avoid risks, to seek comfort and certainty, while intuition guides us to places where growth happens—often in the form of challenges and the unknown.
To truly access and trust our intuition, we have to let go of the need for it to always lead us to an immediate ‘good’ outcome. We have to stop looking at it as a tool to avoid pain or discomfort and start seeing it as a beacon pointing us toward our deepest truths. Intuition doesn’t always tell us what we want to hear; it tells us what we need to hear.
The process of releasing our intuition starts with cultivating self-love and trust. The more we love ourselves, the more we can accept our inner voice without judgment. When we doubt ourselves or fail to listen to our intuition, it's often because we’ve been conditioned to believe that our own inner knowing is not enough. We seek validation and confirmation from others, ignoring that quiet whisper within us.
But intuition thrives on self-trust. The more we trust our inner voice, the stronger and clearer it becomes. This means being brave enough to follow our intuition even when it doesn’t make sense, even when it leads us into uncertainty or discomfort. Because in those moments, we are breaking free from the limitations of our conditioned mind and stepping into a space of true inner guidance.
So, if you want to 'strengthen' your intuition, focus not on controlling or seeking it, but on releasing it. Release the doubts, release the need for external validation, and most importantly, release the belief that intuition is here to make life easy. Instead, embrace it as the voice that guides you toward your most aligned path, even when that path feels difficult. In that release, you’ll find that your intuition is far stronger and more accessible than you ever realized."
